FAQ

How will teachers know what my child is accessing at any particular time?

All traffic on the school internet is monitored by our web filters. However, teachers do not want to spend valuable time being security monitors. Responsibility for correct behaviour and good learning habits ultimately rest with the student under good guidance by parents and teachers.

Is there an App that could enable students to do away with the school diary?

There is a calendar in the iPad that allows students to make notes relevant to that day. The current diary, however, has a range of other functions outside the recording of daily homework and is seen as an important organisational tool at this stage.

How will the ability to use camera and video without consent or knowledge of staff be addressed?

There is an existing policy within the diary for use of cameras and recording devices at school. This policy can also be accessed on the Policies page of this website.

Do I need to purchase a keyboard?

A keyboard is optional, but not required.

Problem solvers

It is often stated many careers that students entering high school will pursue in their working life do not exist yet! Our students need to be independant learners and problem solvers to cope with the many challenges ahead.

Adaptability

The only constant in life is change. This is especially true in education. Those who can adapt to a changing environment, whether that be school, work or leisure, will be best equipped to lead a fulfilling life,

Creativity

Rather than passive consumers of information students will become active creators of information. We see this now with blogs, wikis, web 2 access and social networking. The digital age has empowered us to be more creative and critical thinkers.
