Digital Technologies Acceptable Use Policy

We believe that explicitly teaching students about safe and responsible online behaviours is essential and is best taught in partnership with parents/guardians. We request that parents/guardians work with us and encourage this behaviour at home. This Acceptable Use Policy is published within the school diary and needs to signed by both student and parent/guardian.

Computer Network and Internet Use Agreement

Students are responsible for good behaviour on school computer networks just as they are in a classroom or in the playground. Communications on the network are often public in nature. General school rules for behaviour and communication apply.

Electronic Devices Policy

It is the responsibility of students who bring mobile phones and other electronic devices onto school premises to adhere to the guidelines outlined in this policy

Cyber-Bullying Policy

Central to the College’s anti-bullying policy is the belief that ‘all pupils have a right not to be bullied’ and that ‘bullying is always unacceptable’. View Video.

Rather than passive consumers of information students will become active creators of information. We see this now with blogs, wikis, web 2 access and social networking. The digital age has empowered us to be more creative and critical thinkers.

Creativity

It is often stated many careers that students entering high school will pursue in their working life do not exist yet! Our students need to be independant learners and problem solvers to cope with the many challenges ahead.
